Following on from my New Year’s posts (and resolutions), here’s my first post of 2016. Let’s discuss my week’s running and what I plan to get unto this week – exercise wise.
New Year – New View
This week, I didn’t plan any major running goals. I decided that easy back gently into a routine is probably the best way to go. So, I set myself a not-very-stretch target of running three times between Monday and Sunday. Success! My low-hanging fruit were easily plucked!
The result was:
- Monday – 5k
- Wednesday – 5.45k
- Sunday – 6k
16 and a bit K is well below my best average of about 30-40k a week (back in the heady days of September/October 2014 as I planned my escape from NZ). But it’s well above my current form of 0k per week. So, I’m pleased that I’ve made a start on getting back into shape.
The plan for this week is:
- 5 runs including 1 x 10k run
- Book myself onto March’s Reading Half-Marathon
- Book myself onto a Marathon for April/May
- Write a training plan for both
Again; nothing earth shatteringly new there – go for 5 runs including a 10k and plan and book some more marathons. What’s changed is that after my long year of no running, I am starting to get back into it. You want proof? I’m posting again. Although, I admit, this is mostly for my benefit and not the greater aim of building an audience.
Till next week – keep on going.
