After my own year from hell, I’ve just finished a short break to Paris. Where I have done almost nothing. And am feeling the benefit from that both physically and mentally.
Why a runner recovering from illness or injury needs patience
I’ve not been able to run at all this week. This is extremely annoying. After slogging my way thorough the valley-of-not-being-arsed to run, I finally regained my mojo. And immediately get injured and have to force-stop myself from running.
Necessary because the key to getting back into my running is not to run. Let’s explore why patience is the key to recovery from illness or injury.
Where I’ve come from
I started running in 2011. It started out as an attempt to shift weight, get healthy and feel better about myself. I’ve achieved those goals. And more. So much more. It’s possibly an overstatement to say running changed my life but my gosh, 3 years later I am in such a better place.
In 2011, I was living in a bedsit in a small town in the English home countries. Terribely fed up with my life and living an unhealthy life. I drank too much, ate too much and smoked. I smoked a lot of cigarettes and had a sour outlook on life. I wasn’t living my dream.
